Breast Augmentation
A breast augmentation procedure is
performed on patients who wish to enlarge or change the shape of their
breasts. Breast augmentation can also be used to achieve symmetry in women
with shape or size differences in their breasts. The patient's breasts
are enlarged by placing an implant behind each breast. The three basic
types of breast implants are saline, silicone gel, and other implant types
that are less common. Breast augmentation procedures are normally performed
on women who are born with small breasts and wish to enlarge them.
